Following the two very successful film festivals in 2002 and 2003, the Australian High Commission is pleased to announce another edition of its highly acclaimed Australian Film Festival for 2006. The Festival will be held in collaboration with the Ministry of Arts & Culture from 18 – 23 March 2006. The venue for all screenings will be at the Serge Constantin Theatre in Vacoas. Entry will be free.
From Oscar Award winning short film (2004), Harvie Crumpet to Heath Ledger, Naomi Watts, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush in the 2004 historical drama, Ned Kelly, this year’s film festival will feature eight full feature and eight short films from Australia. The program promises an exciting selection of films for all moviegoers.
This year’s festival will be marked by the special presence of Ms Shirley Barrett, the Australian Director and Writer of the Award winning film, Love Serenade which will feature at the Festival Opening. During her visit, Ms Barrett will conduct a number of workshops.
