Australian Sports Outreach Program
The Australian Sports Outreach Program (ASOP) focuses on increasing community participation in sport and physical activity. Funding under this program is provided to assist targeted small-medium size community sport development projects in developing Commonwealth countries not normally assisted under the Pacific or southern African components of the ASOP. The Australian High Commission in Port Louis accepts ASOP projects from Mauritius, Seychelles and Madagascar.
ASOP is also designed to offer an effective vehicle for addressing broader community issues such as health promotion, leadership and social cohesion through sport and physical activity. The program will run until July 2011.
